Review by hotel critic
The Austrian Sports Resort in Obertraun exceeded all our expectations. The clean and spacious suite in the Dachstein building offered breathtaking views of the mountains. The buffet breakfast was alright, but the dinner for 13 EUR per person was a fantastic deal. The location near Hallstatt was convenient, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. We even had a pleasant surprise meeting the Chinese U19 football team and their coach, Zhang Xinxin.The staff was friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. The sauna was a pleasant surprise, much better than expected from the photos. The hotel is perfect for sports enthusiasts, with ski pass sales, ski equipment hire, and various activities like skiing and cycling. The on-site café served a wide range of drinks, perfect for relaxing after a day of adventures. I can't wait to come back, maybe in the summer to explore more of the region!
